Dartmoor Climbing and Long Quarry Point
Easter weekend was exciting this year! Amy and I got engaged on Good Friday and then went on a celebratory adventure the following day; including some bouldering at Hound Tor in Dartmoor and a trip to the stunning Long Quarry Point near Torquay. Both these places were stunning and the most expensive thing we did all day was pay two pounds to park - it's amazing how much fun you can have without splashing any cash!
There's two climbing projects I can't wait to come back to try in each of these locations - soloing the suspension flake at Hound Tor, voted one of the best VS climbs in the UK! And having a crack at some deep water soloing at Long Quarry, one to try when the sea temperature is a bit warmer I think. Hopefully I'll get both of these done in the summer, so watch this space!

Surfing is one of those things I'd love to devote more time to, it's hard to beat the feeling of waking early on a beautiful morning to play in the sea!
Bikes BBQs & Cider
With two social events on Saturday - a BBQ for lunch in Gloucester and a Cider Festival near Ledbury in the evening - I decided to make a trip of it on the bike. Heading out from Bath on Friday evening with my housemate we pedaled out towards Gloucester before stopping in Sodbury for some fish and chips and to enjoy the evening sun! After dark I found a great spot to bivvy, at first light I rode the rest of the way to Gloucester for a burger with some old uni friends, and then on to the cider festival for some hard earned ciders! After a late night and a lazy Sunday morning I packed my tent up and rode a beautiful route through the Wye valley and Somerset bike paths to eventually end up back where I'd started on Friday evening! All in all a cracking weekend!
